Opinion: Showing Shade makes Mother lose Her Mind

The teacher who showed Fifty Shades of Grey in the car to her students, should not be punished harshly. Although the movie is not the most appropriate to show she was renting it for 17 year olds who have already seen it and are mature.  The teacher was not aware of the 14 year old being in the car. At 14 years old kids know what they should be watching and what they shouldn't. And to the teachers defence the 14 years old should have been in the car with the younger kids. The 14 year old girl should have also spoke up apparently the child wanted to watch the movie because she did not seem to make any complaints to the teacher durring the movie.
The mother of the 14 year old is over reacting. She is harrasing the teacher by getting her investigated on sex crimes. The teacher should not be looked at as a pedophile because no other students complained about watching the movie. The mother needs to just allow the school to deal with it and she needs to deal with her child. The teacher didn't force the 14 yar old to watch the movie she didn't even know she was in the car. I don't think the teacher should have to loose her job for showing a film to teenagers who are old enough to make their own decisions. Maybe the teacher shouldn't have rented the movie but it was a one time thing, it's not like the teacher includes rated R movies in her lesson plan.

Rapsody Music Review: The Idea Of Beautiful

Rapsody is signed with the label It’s A Wonderful World Music Group. Rapsody is unique because when people think of rap you don't think about the rapper being from Snow Hill North Carolina. Although rappers are usually from bigger cities, Snow Hill worked for Rapsody because she still has that 90's style element. Rapsody began her solo career in 2008 after singing with 9th Wonder. Her first breakthrough was the release Return of the B-Girl in 2010 with features from Mac Miller and Big Daddy Kane. She continued to make a unique run of mix tapes with features from big artist such as Kendrick Lamar, she also went on the Dope tour with Mac Miller. The album The Idea Of Beautiful was produced by 9th Wonder the album was released under a independent record label Jamia. Growing up Rapsody  thought she was not beautiful because she suffers from thyroids with this album she wants to express her growth about her now understanding beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Rapsody's  style of music is more like storytelling. As a newer artist she chooses to approach a 90's style of rap. The Idea of Beautiful came from the same type of inspiration, she believes newer rappers don't include the same type of beauty as the older rappers like Jay-Z. The lyrics and the meaning of them are more interesting than what she produces. Meaning her lyrics are touching and clever. Rapsody uses a lot of wordplay throughout her album, but how she delivers the lyrics in her songs can be very bland. One of the songs that really stands out from the others in this album is “Good Good Love” the song is directed to the flaws of materialism and how people try to get things that are out of their lane. The song's message is presented in the hook of the song. “For him she packed all her Louie (All her Louie) All her Gucci (All her Gucci) All her Prada (All her Prada) But somehow she left her heart .” The person is focusing on her material possessions and leaving her loving spirit behind. Another song that sticks out when first hearing the album is “Believe Me” this song shows that Rapsody understands that the rap life is not all glamour. She understands that there are multiple steps you have to take for you dreams to come true and it’s not something that just happens.
The songs on this album have potential because of what they mean and the lyrics she puts together. In order for this album to get a solid listen and for this album to get Rapsody more fans from this era there needs more excitement in her choice of choosing her beats and the way she delivers her work. I would not be proud to recommend this album because it gets boring her style does not change. I think Rapsody focuses to much on having a style similar to her idols (Jay-Z and Lauryn Hill). I think when Rapsody finds her own style where she can include only some aspects to what her idols produce, she will have a more solid album.

Album review- Futures "Purple Reign"

" I Know When The Wave Is Going To Happen. You Just Got To Be Prepared For It To Happen.” -Future.The mixtape Purple Reign was just a starter for something big for the year of 2016.

Purple Reign came from Futures is addiction to the drink lean, and lean is purple. Reign is to rule as king that’s expressing his power over the rap game. Future announced his Purple Reign Tour December 9th then comes out with this mixtape named Purple Reign January 17, 2016. This is not an album for non future fans the style he uses will be hard to understand, but for fans of future the old future is back. At first it was hard to react to the album because it’s not the Future that we heard in some of his other 2015 mix tapes. The album is a mixture of old Future and new beats.
Futures instrumentals are always ethereal and powerful, the beats itself make the mix tape. Futures meaning behind his  lyrics are so clever. He still displays the anger, happiness, boisterousness, and vulnerability he has previously, but this time there’s another meaning to his words. It’s not quite happy, but it’s not sad either. It’s acknowledging there's always going to be problems in the world, and he’ll be the first to tell you so. But Future’s delivery suggests a certain amount of acceptance, and it signals to his audience that he's grown as a person alongside growing as an artist during this mixtape. A couple of songs are Future looking back on what’s occurred in his career and giving commentary on where he’s come since then. Most songs connect to previous works, providing more insight on what was said before. For instance, “Perkys Calling” works like a reflection on "Just Like Bruddas" where he discusses the lessons he’s learned since the events of the Beast Mode highlight, expressing remorse that he wasn’t able to bring all his family and friends along with him in his rise to success. “Purple Reign” continues Future’s excellent record of outro songs that recap the tape’s perspective, providing a sort of revision to “Codeine Crazy.” The song indicates  that there’s some sadness in all of this. Even though he’s achieved all these things he's dreamed of, there are still things he wishes he didn’t have to do to get here. The song “Alright” is devoid of talk about his previous relationship with Ciara, which Future has spoken of negatively in his previous works. From the tentative first few notes of tape opener “All Right,” his hooks and verses are focused on stunting. “You know I be gettin’ that moolah on a daily basis. The song  “Run Up,” is  a challenge: “Dare you try to run up.” The song is emphasizing that future is dangerous and that he is not the one you want to be in competition with.  With no features around to help him navigate the waters, Future is able to have a more in control tone.
Future has created his artistry to a science, balancing the various responsibilities of making rap music. This mixtape is consistent and one of the most emotive. Future definitely did not hold back when making this mix tape. So if you like Future, and even if you don’t and enjoy the energy of trap music, you will really vibe with this mix tape for sure. But if you don’t like high-energy music , and Future’s style then you probably won’t really like the mix tape too much.

Song Review: Macklemore white privilege II

Macklemore name came from his unique fashion style his friends use to call him professor Macklemore he was not a professor of any sort, but the name Macklemore stuck with him. Macklemore is a rapper who's part of the hip-hop duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, known for the hits "Thrift Shop" and "Can't Hold Us." Macklemore does not have the average “rapper background” and his music style is not the average “rap music”.

The song White Privilege II was creative because of how good the song connects with what’s happening currently. The beat was different but to different I think it was to much going on in the song personally. The lyrics did not belong to the beat it should have just been a poem or something. There was a good message but thats it the song is to long. It’s interesting at the start of the song but as it goes on you really want to stop listening. I kept listening to hear what he had to say but the music aspect was not there for me. The music that I have listened to were more upbeat this song makes me sleepy.

A badge to Assault

These men were locked away from their lives for 20 plus years. They have missed birthdays and had to morne family death in prison. Why’d they end up in this situation, because they were forced.
Darrell Cannon and Shaw Whirl were forced into giving false statements because they feared for their lives. "I used to try to imagine how black people felt in Mississippi and
Alabama back in the days when the Klan used to terrorize them, and I really couldn't get a good feel for what they must have felt, but November 2, 1983 allowed me to get a very good feeling [about it].” These two men were tourchered for hours being shocked, taunted with guns, and were being called racial names.
So What?
These men were in jail for 20 plus years for a crime they were forced to plead guilty to. These men were taken into police custody and abused so much that the men finally gave in because they were physically and emotionally tired. The men in blue are suppose to be a sign of relief for the innocent. Neither of these men were able to get a chance to voice their innocence.
How?
How is it possible that the people who enforce the law are able to perform these acts of assault and racism. The whole system is corrupted, it wasn’t  just one officer but the man in charge of a whole team of police. Police Commander Jon Burge ran a whole team of officers who he allowed to use torture and be profoundly racist. Burges went undetected for years before he was called out. How was it possible to be able to fake a whole trial and go undetected by the judge and the jury. It’s shocking because he has been doing it for so long it’s not just Whirl and Cannon who have experienced this type of treatment there are 120 cases of Burge’s team torturing African American men. And there are currently 12 victims still in prison today.
What needs to be done?
Before anything else is done the 12 men who are still imprisoned need to be freed because they have suffered long enough. Then we need to start thinking about what our judicial system is here for and if the system is holding up to it’s expectations. These cases so far have only be present in Chicago, but look how long Burges team went undetected. Who is it to say that there are not more teams like Burges out there torturing African American men to commit to a crime that they did not do. Also think about how many other victims can be in jail missing birthdays and mourning over family deaths trapped and not being heard.

When do you stop eating?

The fast food industries biggest fears are sickness and sell drops. The question is why does it take for someone to become sick or a discovery about the food products for people to start thinking about what they eat.
Everybody remembers the "Pink Slime" rumor about Mcdonalds in 2012. The rumor was that Mcdonalds was using trimmings of  left over beef. These trimmings are used in dog and chicken food. After the rumor Mcdonalds sales did drop but, not from the "Pink Slime". You would hear everybody ranting about how they wouldn't eat Mcdonalds anymore because the slime wasn't real food and that could not possibly be healthy. There have health problems presented about Mcdonals way before the "Pink Slime" incident like how it is unhealthy and people should not eat it because to much of it could lead to obesity. Not surprisingly the statement was ignored and did not get nearly as much attention as the pink slime did.

Recently the Mexican grill Chipotle has had an E.Coli outbreak and it has everybody second guessing their next trip to their "favorite" eatery. There has been cases of the E.Coli outbreaks in 9 states resulting in sickness and 20 hospitalizations. And to no surprise no one wants to eat it. Chipotle is one of the healthier choices when trying to grab a bite to eat, but this is not the first unhealthy thing to be found at Chipotle. Recently Chipotle has stopped using GMO's in their food, but what about all the times they were using them? Why didn't anybody stop eating there then. Although a lot of fast food places use GMO's in their food it does not make it any less harmful. Why does it take something  to be deadly, in order for people to think about what they are consuming?

Morning Misfortune

Imagine waking up an extra two or three hours to be on time; you even arrive at the bus stop five minutes before the bus is planned to come, and the five minute wait for the bus easily turns into twenty.
Mckinley Tech students experience this at least two times every week.
"When I get to Rhode Island the bus is not present when it's suppose to be. I get up at 6:20 and leave out around 6:55- 7:00 every morning." Said Saniya Smith an 11th grade student.
The cause of this Morning Misfortune starts with the hectic M31 ride. The M31 is a bus that comes to Rhode Island, taking students to Mckinley. The bus is intended to get students to school on time. Around half of the student population catches the bus in the morning. The newly found problem is the bus never seems to get to Rhode Island on time resulting in numerous tardies. Students have questioned if the bus can be considered reliable.
"The bus does not always come on time, sometimes it does, sometimes is doesn't" says Smith.
Although the mayhem lies heavily on the M31, the metal detectors aren't a breath of fresh air for the students either. The students arrive at school only to be stopped at the door. There are currently only 2 working  metal detectors for over 200 students. The metal detectors create more problems for the students trying to get to class by 8:45 and most of them are  becoming angry
“When one person goes through and go off the next person has to wait until they take everything off and go back through.” Smith said “Why can’t the next person just go through? It takes up time.”
However being late and getting detention causes a much bigger problem for students. “1st period has been a hardship for students not just because of the students efforts in the classroom but their tardiness.”  Some students have noticed that their highest grade isn’t coming from their first period. Not only are these busses making students tardy but also affecting their morning academics.
“Sometimes the bus makes me late to where I miss the introduction to class or even a warm up.” Said Grahanam an 11th grade student.
Ultimately, students feel that there needs to be changes in order for the morning to run smoother.

“I feel like if they want the students to come in happy they should speak more.” Said Grahanam “You know change it around.”
